CAC GRAMMAR SCHOOL HONOURS MAJOR GENERAL OLAWUMI WITH PRESTIGIOUS AWARD AS THE SCHOOL CELEBRATES 60TH ANNIVERSARY

CAC Grammar school, Akure has honoured Major General Olawumi Johnson Bamidele with a prestigious award for his exceptional contributions to humanity and his alma mater.
This was a result of his dedication to giving back to the institution which was officially recognized when he was awarded an iconic honour during the school’s 60th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the school premises.
In a heartfelt speech to journalists after receiving his award, Major General Olawumi (rtd) expressed profound gratitude for the recognition given to him.
“I give thanks to God for what He is using the alumni to achieve in the school. My own contribution is nothing but a small part of what many of us are doing for our beloved alma mater. This institution has produced exceptional men and women who have excelled globally, and we believe it is only right to give back.”
He continued, “CAC Grammar School provided us with the essential qualities needed to succeed in life and our careers. It instilled in us a deep sense of discipline, integrity, hard work, audacity, and, above all, faith, which guided me throughout my journey, especially as I moved on to the Nigeria Defence Academy.”
Reflecting on the school’s influence on his life, Major General Olawumi urged the younger generation to embrace the values and virtues instilled in them during their time at CAC Grammar School, emphasizing how these principles would serve them well throughout their lives.
In a warm and encouraging message, Mrs. Cecilia Olokunlade extended her heartfelt congratulations to Major General Olawumi on his well-deserved recognition. She described him as an outstanding colleague, commended his achievements, and prayed for continued success, honour, and recognition in his future endeavours.
