By The NewsPostage

The Ado of Adofure in Oyemekun Local Council Development Authority Area in Ondo State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akin Atere has cautioned EndBadGovernance protesters against destruction of life and prosperity during their protests from August 1st 2024.

He made this known while fielding questions from journalists in his palace at Adofure the headquarters of Oyemekun Local Council Development Authority yesterday.

The protests should be violent free and the protesters should learn from what happened in 1966,1983 and the #EndSars of 2020 where life and property were destroyed, the Monarch pointed out.

He stated that cost of goods and services have increased beyond the purchasing power of ordinary Nigerians but counceled that wide protests, destruction of life and property can never be the solution.

He was of the opinion that he would have preferred Strike Action instead of protests explaining that harbingers of violence can hijack peaceful protests at anytime.

He lauded the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa for all the steps he has taken so far to ameliorate the suffering of the people, adding that the food markets being created by the government is a welcome development.

The Monarch averred that the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should drastically reduce the prices of the petroleum products stating that the removal of the oil subsidy was a life sentence to all and sundry in Nigeria.

The President and his Cabinet Members should do everything possible to end the hunger being passed through by Nigerians.

In Samaria, people encountered untold hardship more than the present situation in Nigeria but God looked down upon the people with mercy and Samaria changed for better. So, the people of Nigeria should equally seek the face of God so that this hardship can come to an end, Oba Atere quipped.

He urged traditional rulers across Nigeria to appeal to their subjects, explaining that the appeal made by Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure at a forum in Abeokuta, Ogun State recently is a welcome development.

He used the occasion to call on the Chairman of Oyemekun Local Council Development Authority and his Team to fast track the development of the area.

“They must not put unnecessary and outrageous taxes on the people,” he pointed.

He added that the Chairman and his Team had clean records before they were appointed and urged them not to disappoint the people of the Area.
