The Ajagungbade of Ode Kingdom in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State Oba Adewale Sunday Boboye  has been officially inaugurated as a distinguished member of Council of Olus in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, yesterday the 8th of August,2025.

The inauguration ceremony which was the part of activities marking the annual Yam festival of the one of the foremost Yorubas tradition rulers held at Ajagungbade’s palace witnessed large turn of very important personalities including some of the Olus in Akure North led by their President.

The occasion witnessed cultural display, payment of tradition homage to the monarch, prayer while a handful of masquerades came out to display their dexterity.

Fielding questions from Today’s News International Magazine,the Ajagungbade of Ode described the occasion as very unique in the anal of history of Ode Kingdom.

He averred that the Community that he met without any iota of development had witnessed various developments since he ascended the throne of his forefathers.

“We can now boast of electricity, schools, health facilities, industries, Churches and other worship centres, hotels and recreational businesses are equally springing up on daily basis in the agrarian community “, Ajagungbade declared.

He lauded the Chairman of the Olus in the Area,for bringing members to witness his inauguration ceremony stating that, the occasion marked a milestone in his life and the chiefs of the serene community.

Meanwhile, the monarch has  used the occasion to thank the Ondo State Governor,His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for embarking on the construction of roads in all the nook and cranny of Ondo State,

and begged the Governor to extend his good hand of fellowship to Ode Community by approving for construction the road leading to the ancient community with thousands of population.

He appealed to the Ondo State Governor to equally provide other social utilities like Bore Holes Water, Police Station, Pubic Secondary School, Street Light among others for the people of the community.

He stated that the Community will continue to give their unalloyed support to the Ondo State Government by ensuring that the policies and programmes of the Governor that are meant to alleviate the suffering of the people are well supported.

He appreciated his chiefs using High Chief Aro of the Community as a point of contact for the support and solidarity.While he thanked his Queens (Oloris),the security,OPC etc for the various roles, they played to ensuring success of the ceremony.
